2046

Hrmm. after a long long break from movies, I finally got round to watching one. Unfortunately my brain was quite stoned at 1-3am in the morning, but still.

2046 seems to be a sequel of sorts to Wong Kar Wai's In the Mood for Love. crappily, I didn't watch itMfL so certain bits seemed to be missing. :S so anyway. just gonna crap about it.

2046 in essence is a story of longing. 3 words seem to perpetuate my mind as i watched it. Lonliness. Detachment. Yearning. It seems to be a show about very very lost people... and i guess people who have been thru such things, or are going tru them now, will really identify with it. Some of the nuances of how the movie goes seems to throw people off the track tho. Somehow its like hes trying to fit one too many things into the film.

Erh... trying not to spoil any bit of the movie for you here, so bear with me.

But somehow i feel in such shows, there are many lil things that will interelate with each other. some notice it, some don't. of course, this is purely my conjecture, but this method of lil reminders always adds meaning to whatever you see on screen. so don't go watch this without trying to pick your own brains.

ok stuff to look out for. remember what $10 is worth. remember what the train is. remember what the train does. think of what the glove is. remember what he says. remember what he does.

on the outset it can seem to be a very boring show, but dig a lil deeper... mebee it'll seema lil more interesting after all. :)

Overall... rather depressing show if you take it too seriously. haha... wouldn't watch it after a day of work. XD But yup.... reminds me of how blessed I am... coz I know theres always something better in store for me. :)
