To Remember

Caught in nothing,
but the chains of reminisce,
the idle mind does wonder
of the moments not so late.

Should I have done that?
Should I have not?
Whispering dreams
that can never be made real.

Still, yet, caught,
between futility and hope;
Reflections do count,
to how our lives will vote,

For to know, and know wisely
what could, should have been done,
means a chance, perhaps,
to refuse history's rerun.
